As issues with bus services to Ratho worsen following McGills’ takeover of First East Scotland, Pentland Hills SNP Councillor Neil Gardiner has been leading the campaign for better bus links. He attended a meeting with Ratho bus users and senior transport officer from City of Edinburgh Council which he himself arranged. The meeting, which took place at Ratho Community Centre, was to discuss the work that the Ratho residents had undertaken to consider practical options for improved bus services for Ratho and Ratho Station.

Councillor Gardiner commented: ‘I applaud the I proactive initiative of Ratho residents, the initial work that has been undertaken is very useful in identifying potential improvements to bus services. We’ll meet again in the next few weeks, once the points discussed have been considered in more detail by officers, as we all seek to provide better bus connections for Ratho’
